A visit to the supermarket will give us a quick idea of all the plastic we consume in a multitude of variants of colors and formats. Despite efforts to recycle more and more packagings, many of the plastic components can only be recycled twice before they become unusable. So sooner or later it seems forced to end up either in a landfill or at the bottom of our oceans.<\/p>\n

Faced with growing concern about the impact of plastic packaging on our planet and our health, sustainable alternatives such as paper, glass or aluminum become the answer *.<\/p>\n

For all these reasons the new development “Graspapier”, by the paper manufacturer Scheufelen<\/a>, seems a solution to take very into account.<\/p>\n

\"Man<\/a><\/p>\n

The German trademark Scheufelen is known for its high quality coated papers. In northern Europe the whiteness of its woodfree collections is much appreciated. That’s why Heaven 42, the white most white coated paper you can find and one of its flagship products, is one of the favorite references in those latitudes.<\/p>\n

They like to equate with the creative papers factory\u00a0Gmund<\/a>. In addition to being German, the innovation, the experience and the prestige of their papers unite them.<\/p>\n

\"Sample<\/a><\/p>\n

The novel aspect of Graspapier of Scheufelen is that this material is made from 50% fresh fiber from sun-dried grass. It is distinguished from other similar fibers in the fact that the raw material is locally obtained in the surroundings of the factory.<\/p>\n

Its low environmental impact is also achieved thanks to the little water consumption of its industrial process (less than 1 liter per tonne of fiber pulp), the reduction in energy consumption of up to 80% per ton and to dispense with any product chemical.<\/p>\n

\"Graspapier<\/a><\/p>\n

Graspapier is distributed by Scheufelen in different qualities under three brand names:<\/p>\n

Greenliner<\/strong>:
\n-For container board and liner. -Uncoated: 80 \/ 90 \/ 105 \/ 125 g.
\n-Both side coated: 85 \/ 95 \/ 110 \/ 130 \/ 150 \/ 205 \/ 250 \/ 275 \/ 300 g.<\/p>\n

Scheufelen<\/strong> graspapier<\/strong>:
\n-For graphical applications as stationery, catalogues, envelopes…
\n-Both sides coated.
\n-Grammages: 85 \/ 95 \/ 110 \/ 130 \/ 150 \/ 205 \/ 250 \/ 275 \/ 300 g.<\/p>\n

Phoenogras<\/strong>:
\n-For unique high-end packaging solutions natural cosmetics and foodstuff.
\n-An exclusive combination of grass paper with the high white fresh fiber board phoenolux.**
\n-Grammages: 390 g.<\/p>\n

\"Shoebox<\/a><\/p>\n

It is especially suitable for offset<\/a> and flexographic printing. As for special finishings\u00a0<\/a>the manufacturer’s product images suggest that hot stamping<\/a> works well.<\/p>\n
